Schedule One is a highly addictive new Early Access Indie title with an immersive sandbox and humorous elements. Developed primarily sole developer TVGS, or Tyler Video Game Studios, Schedule One throws you into building a drug empire from scratch after a rough spell of luck. The gameplay loop just this side of addictive and potentially making it the indie hit of 2025.
You can play solo or co-op, starting after a brief tutorial in a town filled with stoners. The game's aesthetic blends "Rick and Morty" with a 3D "South Park" feel, packed with pop culture references and witty humor. While police presence exists, they are easily evaded. The roadmap promises ambitious updates, and the reviewer has already sunk 50 hours in.
The game shines in its earned progression, deep economic system requiring money laundering, and unique strain creation mechanic for cannabis enthusiasts. It should be noted at this point in early access there is a lack of full controller support but that is on the development roadmap. Despite minor quirks like inconsistent music and inventory management, "Schedule One" offers an immersive empire-building experience reminiscent of a personal "Breaking Bad" and is highly recommended for fans of games like "GTA Online" and "Stardew Valley."Â
Currently available on Steam, console release is hoped for.
